Dr. Sergey Rome M.D., FACS


Dr. Rome is board certified by the American Board of Urology and joined the urologic institute of New Jersey in 2003.

He is a clinical instructor of surgery appointed by the University of Medicine and Dentistry in New Jersey-New Jersey Medical School.

Born in Ukraine in 1968, Dr Rome immigrated to the United States in 1990. He attended Brooklyn College, graduating Magna Cum Laude in 1993. He received his doctorate from New York University, School of Medicine in 1997.

He graduated from Surgical residency in 1999 at New York University and completed a prestigious urology residency program in 2003 from New York University Medical Center where he studied under Dr. Herb Lepor, M.D.

Dr. Rome serves on several urologic advisory boards whose focuses are aimed toward improving pharmaceutical product quality in the field of urology.

Dr. Rome specializes in urologic oncology, genitourinary complex stone therapy, Male and female incontinence, and minimally invasive approaches to urologic disorders involving the prostate and bladder.

Dr. Rome is one of only a handful of board certified urologists in northern New Jersey with considerable experience in Male slings and been involved in perfecting this technique in recent years.

Dr. Rome is tri-lingual in English, Russian and Spanish.

Dr. Steve Lebovitch, M.D.


Dr. Steve Lebovitch joined the staff of the Urologic Institute of New Jersey in August of 2009.

He received his Bachelor of Science at SUNY Stonybrook and his medical degree from SUNY Down State Medical Center in 2003. He completed his general surgery and urology training at Temple University Hospital in Philadelphia and trained at Fox-Chase Cancer Center in Philadelphia. His training was completed in 2009.

His training and skills include the work-up and treatment of:
Benign and Malignant Diseases of the Kidney, Ureter, Bladder, Prostate, Urethra and the Penis.
Male and female treatment of Stone Disease especially Complex Kidney Disease
Voiding Dysfunction and Urinary Incontinence
Pelvic Reconstructions in females
Male Sexual and Erectile Dysfunction (Impotence)
Male Reproductive System


Dr. Lebovitch is trained in both Laparoscopic and Robotic (da Vinci) surgery which he performs at Hackensack University Medical Center and The Valley Hospital.


He is bilingual in English and Yiddish and can communicate in Russian.

Richard Campo, MD, MPH, FACS

Board certified Urologist, provides medical and surgical treatments for urinary and reproductive tract conditions in men, women, and children.


Dr. Campo is a graduate of Columbia University, with a BA in Molecular and Cellular Biology. He received a Masters in Public Health from Columbia University School of Public Health. He graduated from medical school at Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York City. He did his surgical training in New York City and Urology residency at The University of Michigan Medical Center Ann Arbor where he was elected and served as Chief Resident. Dr Campo is board certified by The American Board of Urology, and is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He is the former director of Urology at The Valley Hospital. Dr Campo has published many articles on prostate diseases, and is a frequent lecturer on urologic conditions.

Some of the conditions Dr. Campo regularly treats include urinary tract infections; kidneys stones; cancers of the prostate, bladder, kidney and testes; incontinence; prostate conditions; urine flow problems; impotence; and infertility.



Sara Rahimi, NP-C

Sara Rahimi is a board certified Nurse Practitioner and has joined the staff at NJ Urology as of July 2017.

She received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Ramapo College of NJ in 2011, and her MSN from Fairleigh Dickinson University in 2017.
Sara is currently training within the group, focusing in general urologic practice.

Treatments include:
Urinary tract infections
Diseases of the kidney, ureter, bladder, prostate, urethra and penis.
Male and female treatment of stone disease including complex kidney disease.
Voiding dysfunction, urine flow issues and urinary incontinence.
Male sexual and erectile dysfunction (impotence)

Sara is bilingual in English and Farsi.


Dr. Jack H. Vitenson M.D. a founding partner and retired in 2013


Dr. Vitenson is board certified by the American Board of Urology and is the founder of the urologic institute of New Jersey which was established in 1988.

He is a associate professor of surgery and urology appointed by the University of Medicine and Dentistry in New Jersey and served as the immediate past chairman of the Department at Hackensack University Medical Center from 1990 to 2000.

He received his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Pennsylvania and, his doctorate from New York Medical College.

He is a member of AOA (National Honor of Medical Society), and attended urology residency at the Wilford Hole Hospital at San Antonio, Texas 1970 to 1972. Dr. Vitenson has been selected as Top Doctors: New Jersey/New York Metro Area numerous times over the years and specialized in adult and geriatric urology, prostate health, urologic oncology, and urinary incontinence.
